Desnee's Child Sage Smudging Spray

Native traditions can involve cleansing a space of negative energy prior to using it for sacred purposes. One way to do this is known as smudging, whereby special herbs (often sage) are formally burned while spiritual assistance is requested to cleanse and purify the area. It's a key ritual surrounding important life events, such as moving to a new home, welcoming a new baby, or preparing a special space. So when my friend Desnee asked for a way to do this for her new women's healing meeting without having to actually burn the herbs - which is prohibited in some public meeting spaces as well as contraindicated for people with allergies and sensitivities to smoke - I was thrilled to oblige.
 
Just shake well before each use and spray liberally into the air in place of smudging the herbs - instead of smoke, the potent sage and lavender herbs are delivered through the fine mister into the space you are purifying.
